Baby Crib

Trenton is going to build the baby crib! On October 24, 2009 we went to a lumber yard and picked out the wood! As you can see, we chose ash for the type of wood. There are also some pictures of Trenton picking the wood out. He is going to do a clear coating over the wood so the wood will remain light in color.

These two outfits were the first outfits we bought for the baby!

These are the first few items that Rick and Mary Etta gave us for the baby! They are some receiving blankets, onesies and baby monitor.

Here are the first outfits that Mama, JC, Sarah, and John Curtiss gave us for the baby!

Here is the first gift from Ron and Katy Strand. There is an outfit, key toy, washcloths, and hooded towel!

John's Birthday

John Curtiss celebrated his 13th birthday on October 9, 2009. Trenton and I were blessed to have everyone still here for his birthday! The following pictures are parts of John's presents and the way that we celebrated his 13 years of life!

We ate lunch at Pei's and then Trenton and I told them we were going somewhere else. So we were on I-380 and we had previously made a big deal about the joke of the day that Nesper's Signs does daily. So we were trying to see what the joke of the day was and Mama was reading it out loud and it said Happy Birthday John Curtiss! It was a surprise for everyone! And they really enjoyed it! John's face lit up! In the picture below you can see part of it in the sign behind John Curtiss!

After that we went to Planet X and spent a few hours playing bumper cars, laser tag, mini-golf, space bikes, arcade games and rock climbing!

There were space bikes. You were strapped down in these "bikes" and pedaled and went around in circles. It sounds alot easier than it really was!

After Planet X we came home and ate dinner and did John's favorite pumpkin pie with candles!

Part of John's present were some Zots--hard candies that have a filling that fizzle in your mouth. Here is Sarah trying to show us the inside of her mouth with a Zot.

The next day was the day that Mama, JC, John Curtiss, and Sarah left to head back to TN. We had an amazing time with them while they were here and can't wait for them to come back! You never know what to expect when the family gets together! :)

Bloomsbury Farm

One day we all went to Bloomsbury Farm. There were a ton of things to do including looking at and petting animals, rubber duck races, "go cart" races, pig races, wagon ride, haunted houses, corn maze, pumpkin patch, and much more! It ended up being a beautiful day and was a blast!

Here are some of the animals. These were fainting goats. You can see they had a contraption built for these guys to climb and then you could crank food up to the top and feed them!

Corn Maze time! With the corn maze we broke into 3 teams of 2 and we were given a map and clues. The map only had on tiny portion printed on it and you had to find the "stations" in order to get the clues out and add them to your map. The teams were JC and Mama, John and Sarah, and Trenton and I. Trenton and I won! Sarah and John Curtiss had a team disadvantage because they lost their clues somewhere along the way meaning they had to do most of theirs without the map, however they did it!

There were a couple of bridges you could cross. Here is one!

Trying to waste time waiting for everyone to finish. Needless to say, Trenton was dying to go back in and find them...so we did! However, we never actually caught up with them till we left the maze!
