Random April Pictures

Not sure how well you can see it, but there is a robin on the ground. I was very shocked by the excitement of seeing a robin, however, I guess it is the first sign of spring. In fact the first time Trenton saw one this spring we were driving down the rode and he just starts yelling, "It's a robin, it's a robin." I was so confused, but now it makes a little more sense.
We have recently found out that Guardian loves to chew on Jezebel's bones. Here he is chewing on a lamb bone.
Here are a couple of pics of Jezebel.
Guardian and Jezebel love the new house! They especially love to lay in the sunlight that the windows and back door let in.

Home Sweet Home

Here are pictures of our new beautiful house! We closed on April 1, 2009 and began our journey of moving items in the following weekend. We were blessed enough to be able to work with amazing previous homeowners and buy the house as a for sale by owner. I would not have wanted to do it any other way. We weren't quite ready to buy a house, but we had been looking and when we found it we knew there was no way it would still be on the market if we waited. God was amazing (as He always is) and has helped us work through each part of this. We now have a home and amazing neighbors. We could not have asked for anything more!
This a picture looking down from the top of the stairs.
Here is a picutre of the living room. The gigantic windows are one of my favorites of the house. It is amazing how much sunlight comes in from these windows.

Picture from outside sliding door onto the deck and backyard. Our back yard backs up to a city golf course. Tee hole number 3 is right behind the house.
Some how I forgot to get a picture of the front of the house. I will try to remember to get one and get it on here soon! Enjoy the rest of the pictures of the house.

Home Sweet Home

The following are pictures of the bedrooms and bathroom: This is looking down the hallway from the living room. The bathroom is the first door the left. The master bedroom is the second door to the left. Straight across from the master bedroom is a spare bedroom and all the way to the back is the guest bedroom. This is a picture of the bathroom entering it from the hallway. To the left is a closet and if you walk in a few feet and turn right you will enter the master bedroom. This is looking in the bathroom from the master bedroom. This is a picture of the bathroom from inside the bathroom.
Here is a picture of the master bedroom.

This is now our guest bedroom.
More of the guest bedroom.

This is the spare bedroom. It is straight across the hallway from the master bedroom. It served as our office for a few months until we found out we are expecting. It is now going to serve as the babys room.
More of our soon to be nursery!

Home Sweet Home

The following are pictures of the basement:
This is taking the steps down to the basement. If you were to go to the left you would go thru a door to the garage and if you would go to the right you would enter the living room area of the basement!
After you get downstairs and turn left, take another right and you will enter the laundry room.
The laundry room holds our 2nd toliet, which has seemed to be a lifesaver when we have had family over to stay! :)
Here is a picture of part of the living room area. As you can see the door the left is to the laundry room, the door straight ahead is to the garage, and if you were to turn right behind the television you would be heading up the stairs to the front door!
Another picture of the living room area. The little door is basically our only storage area under the stairs since we have vaulted ceilings (meaning no attic)!
As you keep walking into the living room you can take a slight right and enter more of the basement. The shelves along the back wall are built-in!
This is the rest of the basement looking out from the area into the right.
As you can see there are tons of windows downstairs, which lets tons of sunlight in and it is beautiful! Guardian loves it!
This is heading back upstairs, at the bottom half of the stairs.
And last but not least this is the top part of the stairwell.
Like I previously stated, this is all the previous owners items inside the house. These pictures were taken when we had our inspection. Hope you enjoyed, and we will get pictures of the house with our things in them soon...along with any renovations that we do!

Crash and Boom!

On February 28, 2009 Ryan and Trenton went to a hospital in downtown Cedar Rapids that was demolishing an old building. Here are some pictures of the aftermath. They had everything fixed where the building would fall in on itself. They actually did some sort of contest to see who would push the button to begin the process. If I remember correctly the guy that won was a janitor or mainetance guy from the hospital and he and his son pushed the button at the same time! The name of the hospital is Mercy Medical Center and they wanted this building demolished so they could us the site for other things that were needed. There was a huge crowd! Enjoy!

Valentine's Day 2009

The night before Valentine's Day God decided to bless us with another beautiful overlay of white snow. Here are few pics of the snow and Jez and Guardian playing in it!

The morning of February 14 was a long morning. That morning Jezebel decided she would make the mistake of biting me on my face. Trenton had just left to go shovel his Granma O'Connor's yard and Jez was sitting in my lap. I bent down to tell her that we were going to get up and she snapped at me and caught my upper lip. And after a visit to a clinic and many "apologies" from Jez we are better now. She becomes very defensive when she has bones so we have decided to cut back on the bones and not risk anything like that happening again. The other good news is that there is hardly even a scar now and hopefully it will continue to fade! That day we rested for a while and then went to see a play that Trenton had bought tickets for. It was in the Amana, IA and the name of the play was Love Letters. It was sweet and ended up being a great day after all!

Here are a couple of pictures of Jezebel and Guardian telling their Daddy Happy Valentine's Day!

Guardian gave Trenton a card and Jez gave him some chocolate candies with a card that had an apology note in it. :) Jez even did a great job of bringing from the bedroom into the living room where dad was resting!
